Rustic, but nonetheless grand, this beautiful mansion home in picturesque Sourzac lies in wait, surrounded by sprawling swaths of green and twisting vines. Exactly what you might expect from a French home, it’s timeless in its mixture of country-home chic and traditional features like the exposed beams and tiled flooring. Surrounded by comfortable furniture, the statement fireplace can easily battle the chill on colder nights, should you choose to kindle it. Sit down here with a glass of regional wine, recounting stories of the day passed as you warm your hands near the fire. The chest-like coffee table can also be converted to a tabletop for family board games. Play in chaotic contentment until the antique grandfather clock chimes and sends you all in different directions. Find your way to the sunken jacuzzi tub for a soak before turning in for the night. Although spacious inside – this 17th century house will surprise you with another nook every time you wander through its halls – true freedom can be found beyond the walls. Everything from the beautifully crystal-clear pool to the tennis court and basketball hoop offers another chance to embark on adventure – even just walking the grounds can be turned into another opportunity to make memories. Fall down on the grass as a stray ray of sunlight filters through the trees, and enjoy the tranquillity. Sit poolside or under cover as you dine alfresco, and when you’re not in the mood, you can find Sourzac and its cafes and restaurants minutes away.
